rain in the desert

Sunday 03rd of July 2011
White Cliffs
Today: rain!
After two hour car drive I reached Wilcannia, I thought this place to be the same town like Broken Hill and it is absolutely not! Most people are Aboriginals and only a total of about 500. One filling station and a little shop, that's about it.
I had a hitch-hiker all the way and it was ok. No pleasant place this Wilcannia. I had some food and the tank filled with expensive petrol. And back on the sealed road to White Cliffs I was heading. Always rain fall in between, not strong, but some rain.
I walked around the mound nothing special or great to be seen. Rain starts again, lucky being back in.
Chatting with some people, nice dinner full house, holiday started yesterday, so many families and their kids are out here.

Category description

Petrol is short for petroleum spirit, also known as gasoline.
Petrol is synonym for gasoline. Gasoline is a toxic translucent, petroleum-derived liquid that is primarily used as a fuel in internal combustion engines. It consists mostly of organic compounds obtained by the fractional distillation of petroleum, enhanced with a variety of additives. Some gasolines also contain ethanol as an alternative fuel. In North America, the term „gasoline“ is often shortened in colloquial usage to „gas“, whereas most current or former Commonwealth nations use the term „petrol“. Under normal ambient conditions its material state is liquid, unlike liquefied petroleum gas or „natural gas“.
