Kattanga Wetlands | Trinity Beach—Cairns | Smithfield
After a lonely breakfast, I drove to the Kattanga Wetlands, parked, suddenly a knock on the car's back: my host was already there. She made some great photos of kingfisher and other birds.
I met more bird watcher and did chat, oh my dear.
On Trinity Beach, I walked the sandy shore and climbed the rocky edge.
All the coastal beaches here are somewhat luxury, costly and upper-class retreats, not my stuff. Strong wind, felt cold.
At Smithfield Uni car wash, I cleaned the car and filled up petrol.
Today is exciting for me: giving back the rented car after two months feels like loosing something homey, being on the street again, just me and the backpack, got quite dependent too, I reckon.
At the bus station in Lake Street in Cairns is the best bakery, I found so far in Australia: Gingerbread House & Bakery. Go there to enjoy your Coffee and one of their pastries!
I strolled around the yacht harbour, chat with an elderly German shipowner about boots. Catches the slow bus back to Smithfield Shopping centre, got some food and walked through the little park to my host.
We had pasta, fresh tomato sauce and fruits.

-steuerung.
