Kuranda—Barron Gorge | Barron River—power station < Trinity Beach
Today I drove up to Kuranda and through the village to the Barron Falls Outlook. There was a well-built boardwalk, but it was too nice, too long, too new and too many German tourists rushing down and up: I disliked it.
I drove to the end of the road and walked down a quiet path to a little river, where I turned around and walked up again. I tried to catch the light in the water, see images.
Back in Kuranda, I had lunch in a pleasant café and did very successfully shop for gifts. Down the windy road back to Smithfield and into the Barron river valley all the way up to the end, where the power station is built into the rock slopes of the narrow, steep rocky valley.
I did jump in the river bed over giant rocks, I love that shit. Some images, most turned out crap, I tried.
For sunset, you could find me up the coast at Trinity Beach, walking the cold sand in chilly southerly winds. Nice evening with my host, but I do not remember the food or conversation, sorry.
