Smithfield < Mossman Gorge | Daintree River
Scenic drive to Mossman Gorge along the rocky coastline in a beautiful clear blue sky. I did the longest possible round trip at Mossman Gorge, firstly there is no gorge, only a rocky river. Not much to see, if you are not into other tourists, plenty of these. Rainforest, green ... green ... green (I mentioned this before), maybe I am a little cynic right now, but I think, and I love nature, green trees are over-estimated as something beautiful.
Anyway, a nice short walk, good for you, no charge, besides you could walk anywhere. I mean, you do not need to drive 50 km (ca. 100 kilometres round trip for this). Time left, so I drove to Daintree river and just entered one of the boat trips offered. Crocodiles can be spotted and to be honest, without the help of our captain and guide I would probably not spot one of the crocodiles. This trip was worth it, no other way to do besides potentially kayoing yourself.
