Driving from Injune to Takarakka camp site at Carnarvon Gorge and doing some hiking
Easy driving through open landscape getting more hilly and then descending to a great flat river plain with futile soil and plenty of cows and some green fields.
I turned left at the street sign and drove another 40 km up towards the white mountain walls to the campground. The site looked very nice, and I paid 17,- $ for my tent place without electricity. I set up the tent and settled the sleeping and left the tent and did some walks.
To an old aboriginal rock painting and up to Mitchel's Canyon and the side canyon, which was even more spectacular. The photos are not so good, sorry.
In between, I gathered information and obtained a map at the national park information centre.
Quite many people were heading back down when I went up to the Moss Garden. The tent place was busy on Friday evening and on Saturday, weekend visitors.
I was in bed early at 21:00, read a little bit and had a dry, and warm cosy night.
