Tamworth to Port Macquarie
I was driving most of the day. Difficult to say goodbye to the friendly Anglican couple who had invited me to stay overnight as their guest.
I filled fuel in Walcha, which was quite a cold place, no wonder on 1013 meters above sea level.
Behind Walcha, I saw a sign for a National Park, so I just drove there. And here we are, beautiful Apsley Falls!
Lucky me, no rain jet, which made it an easy walk around the cliffs. The other side was closed because the bridge was washed away be the latest flooding.
The windy road down through steep hills was a task to drive. One coffee stop in a nice café was good.
Later in the rain, the door window would just open by itself in the middle of some strong rain. First I could not close the window, then it did it. A moment later, it opened again by itself. This game continued for a while, I stopped and called the road service. He came rapidly and said he was unable to do much, but ensured me to keep on going and call the 5,000 km Service from Travellers Auto Barn tomorrow.
I made it with no more complications to my host's place in Lake Cathie. She was not there, after 20 minutes, I called her, she asked me to wait a little longer, being on her way home.
I cooked, and she tried to tame the two lively boys, mission impossible. We had a very active evening 🙂 She went to bed early with her to boys.
