Lismore – Nimbin – Mount Nardi – The Channon

Friday 23rd of July 2011
Lismore | Nimbin | Mount Nardi | The Channon | Lismore
Today we chatted until 10:00 am, and then I drove to Nimbin, had a short stop over, got information about the walks in the Nightcap National Park and selected the advised sealed road to Mt. Nardi. Close to the top of Mount Nardi, the car was totally overheated. I got this warning signal and the next moment the smoke came off the front of the car. I stopped: what to do?
To my amazement, I had an excellent mobile coverage and called the road service and waited until he came. I read some pages in the Australia rough guidebook from my host. Had on orange and some cookies.
The service man found out quickly, that the guys who did the car service yesterday, had forgotten to fix the electrical connection to the cooler fan. It did not work whatsoever. He refilled the water, fixed the line and everything was ok again.
I did the two walks on Mount Nardi, nice rainforest I have never seen before. Fig trees, creeper on all trees, fern-trees, grass-trees, ferns on the trees, palm-trees and eucalyptus. Colossal trees, see the pictures. On my way back through lovely hilly countryside, I enjoyed the views.
